Code Fever Miami

Code Fever Miami

Founded in 2013

Code Fever Miami focuses on dramatically shifting the way Black and minority communities engage with, contribute to, and are valued by the innovation sector. We focus on building assets and talent filled spaces within the black community while bridging the innovation gap within the black community and the greater entrepreneurial ecosystem. We gather resources such as training, networks, and funding in order to build these assets and spaces, so that innovation can thrive within the black community. Code Fever Miami seeks to impact youth and adults within low opportunity, high potential communities. Youth programming carries a focus on increasing the number of students pursuing STEM fields, and then equipping them with the fundamental skills required to successfully operate in the STEM industry. Adult programming aims to increase general access and understanding of opportunities in the fields of technology and entrepreneurship. Our adult coding programs support a growing community of like-minded professionals, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists that collaborate and share knowledge in their areas of expertise. Long term success of these programs is two fold: an increased wealth of qualified minorities to fill positions within the technological ecosystem, and an increase in the number of minority founded, venture backed, high growth businesses in the United States.

What courses make it stand out?

Code Fever Miami, Inc. is dedicated to building inclusive economies by raising the economic profile of black communities and increasing economic inclusivity. Our offerings include coding programs that range from youth to adult level. Code Fever has an innovative and demonstrated approach to increasing exposure to STEM fields through our youth hackathons, coding bootcamps, and Career Jams that take students from low opportunity areas into the offices of major Tech Companies. Our adult Full-stack Development training Bootcamps provide training for students to become junior developers through building web applications using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Our adult programs offer training, programming and a minority entrepreneurship pipeline that builds national and regional capacity to attract new capital, increase regional deal flow, and generate additional support for early and late stage entrepreneurs of color. Our key initiative in building of inclusive economies starts with our most precious commodity, our youth. Through our programs, community youth have the opportunity to interact with professionals and practitioners in the STEM fields along with successful entrepreneurs as a part of Code Fever’s youth outreach programs, coding camps, and hackathons. Aside from youth programming, Code Fever’s Early Stage Initiative is heavily engaged in providing pathways for small business and startups to acquire support, technical assistance, and funding to scale. This initiative is designed to transform the perception of minority innovation and increase the number of venture-backed, minority-led firms across the country.
